(Article Three):

The National Risk Council shall determine the direction, vision, and objectives related to risk, emergency, crisis, disaster and business continuity affairs at the national level, and enhance the capacity of the relevant entities to prevent, plan and prepare for them, and to co-ordinate among themselves in relation to those affairs.

Disaster and Crisis Management Center

Operational on January 24, 2022
  • Monitoring and controlling all matters related to national risks and their indicators, in coordination with the relevant authorities, and reporting to the Council on what requires action in this regard.
  • Collecting, classifying, analyzing, and evaluating data, information and incidents related to national risk affairs that are received from the relevant authorities, and reporting to the Council on what requires action in this regard.
  • Participate in crisis and disaster management in accordance with the approved regulations, frameworks, and procedures.
  • Coordinating efforts between the concerned sectors when dealing with the event in accordance with the plans, frameworks and procedures regulating that.
  • Evaluate the measures taken by the relevant authorities to respond to and recover from emergencies, crises, and disasters, and draw lessons learned from them and proposed solutions to address them, and report to the Council what requires action in this regard.

Center of Excellence

 
  • Find solutions to reduce national risks, emergencies, crises, and disasters, and ensure business continuity through studies, applied research and advanced technologies, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
  • Organizing and delivering educational programs and training courses in the areas of risk and emergency management and business continuity.
  • Organizing and presenting the necessary programs to raise awareness of risks, emergencies, crises and disasters of all kinds and their effects, and how to deal with them before, during and after their occurrence.
  • Building professional standards and frameworks, as well as developing and implementing standardized tests in the risk, emergency and business continuity sector.
  • Qualifying experts from the public and private sectors in the areas of risk, emergency, and business continuity management, according to a financial consideration set for this purpose.
