Self Leadership as a Foundation for Effective Emergency Response
Workshop Overview
This workshop combines self leadership principles with emergency response strategies. Participants will learn to leverage individual power, take proactive actions, and apply diagnostic skills effectively. This session pilots a new, exclusive design for GSNRC, linking self leadership principles with emergency response through relevant case studies and practical exercises.
Leadership in emergency management is a dynamic and multifaceted endeavor that requires a combination of leading by example, sharing personal experience, providing mentorship, and encouraging individuals to lead from wherever they find themselves. By embodying these principles, leaders inspire excellence, foster growth, and cultivate a resilient and adaptable workforce. Effective leadership in times of crisis is not solely reliant on formal authority but rather on the ability to inspire, guide, and empower others to overcome challenges and achieve success in the face of adversity. Leadership is not limited to those in formal positions of authority. In emergency management, everyone has the potential to lead from where they are. Regardless of their formal positions, individuals can make a significant impact by taking ownership of their responsibilities and demonstrating leadership qualities. Encouraging individuals to step up, contribute ideas, and take initiative creates a culture of shared leadership and empowers everyone to be part of the solution.
